Which websites AI systems cite in your market.

Often it is not just direct competitors, but platforms, magazines, forums or video portals. AI source analysis does not just give you a ranking, it describes the landscape: who accounts for the citations? How concentrated are they? Which types of page get cited – and is your own website among them?

Citations and “cited in how many questions” are two separate figures. Without a match in the competitor role or the pattern list, a source stays “unclassified” – BrandZaps does not guess a page type.

Two situations, two next steps.

A provider does not count twice just because its URL appears in different forms. And a missing source list is not the same as a source list without your website.

CASE A There was no source list to win

The answer named no sources at all. A citation was not possible here.

CASE B Sources were listed, but not your website

A citation was possible here and went to others. That is a finding, not a gap in the data.

Concentration instead of a ranking.

BrandZaps shows how many sources account for 50, 80 and 95 per cent of all citations. This makes it clear whether a market is dominated by a few sources or widely spread.

50% OF CITATIONS 4 sources

A narrow market: a few websites account for half of all citations.

80% OF CITATIONS 11 sources

The reachable core of the source landscape.

95% OF CITATIONS 29 sources

The long tail – rarely cited, but measurable.

Website coverage

Which of your pages get cited. Your own domain is labelled “own”.

Source list and movement

The list covers all sources. Movement shows which sources appear or disappear.

Every source in detail.

A drawer for each source shows its rank history over time and the excerpts from AI answers in which it appeared.

This lets you connect the figure to the specific answers in which a website appeared as a source.

From sources to actions.

A market where citations come mainly from platforms, magazines or forums is a different finding from one where a few provider domains account for the sources. The most-cited sources appear as a separate card on the project dashboard.

Not just: how often are sources cited? But: who dominates the sources?

A clear picture of which websites are cited in your market and where your own website could stand.
