Website snapshots: understand your website, page by page.
A snapshot is a complete point-in-time capture of your website. BrandZaps crawls the pages, extracts content and structure and turns them into the factual basis for almost every other feature.
Between two captures, you can see what has changed.
A crawler with content context.
Traditional crawlers deliver technical lists: URLs and individual checks, separated from topics, competition and AI visibility. If you don't answer these questions with facts, you are planning on assumptions.
BrandZaps reads the website in the very project that also holds the company profile, keywords, page plan and AI visibility. So the crawl doesn't become an isolated export but a shared website context.
Captured automatically, stored with a date.
As soon as you enter the website when creating the project, the first crawl starts. After that, BrandZaps collects a new snapshot every 30 days – you can start your own run at any time, and BrandZaps lets you know by email when it's finished.
Progress is visible live, and the crawler respects the website's robots.txt.
Content instead of raw data.
BrandZaps extracts each page directly after fetching it. The HTML itself is then discarded, and redirects are resolved instead of being stored as empty rows.
The page type comes from structured data and states its source. This keeps it clear whether a classification was derived from the website itself.
From snapshot to working view.
How complete is the capture?
Coverage against discovered URLs, the reason the crawl ended, comparison with the sitemap, change from the previous snapshot and a preview of the homepage.
Structure by page type and directory
The detail view shows capture quality and a filterable list of all pages. The filters apply across all URLs, not just the loaded page – and changes become visible at field level.
A single URL in detail
Search result preview, heading structure with levels, metrics, detected entities, text excerpt and images without alt text. Traceable from the overall structure down to the individual page.
Changes compared paragraph by paragraph.
You can open a changed page in a paragraph-by-paragraph comparison. Red and green show what was removed and what was added. The change isn't reduced to an abstract number.
What else the snapshot provides.
With every crawl, BrandZaps measures colours, fonts and logo. This measurement provides suggestions for the brand profile.
View brand profile →For the target sitemap, BrandZaps reads your own pages with the same analysis as competitors' pages.
Anomalies between two snapshots appear as alerts – made visible without being silently assessed or corrected.
The factual basis for other features.
A page plan can build on actual pages, a gap becomes visible at a specific URL, and a citability check assesses the pages contained in the snapshot.
Your website is more than a URL. It is the measured starting point.
The snapshot makes the website available in the project as structure, content and development – with the source of each classification and a comparison with the previous state.
