Brand profile: tone of voice, claims and design. So BrandZaps knows how your brand speaks.

Good content needs more than correct information. It needs a recognisable brand. The brand profile keeps tone of address, approved claims, visual foundations and brand spellings in one binding place.

A brand needs more than three adjectives.

“Modern”, “professional” and “approachable” could describe many companies. But they say little about how a specific sentence should be built, which words suit the brand or how strongly a statement may be worded.

The content boundary matters even more: an AI tool that writes on behalf of a company can phrase company facts freely if no binding rules are in place. The result is statements nobody approved – or copy that sounds correct but could come from any other company.

This information does not belong in scattered notes or individual prompts. It belongs in a structured brand source that BrandZaps features can draw on.

Adjectives are not rules

A writing style cannot be reliably described with three attributes.

“Market leader in Europe.” Not approved
“Up to 300% more traffic.” No evidence on file
Statements without approval

Without binding rules, you get wording nobody has checked.

One brand profile with four clear foundations.

The brand profile brings together the rules BrandZaps needs for language, claims, design and brand recognition. It is the “Brand” tab in the company profile: the company profile describes what your company is – the brand profile defines how it communicates and presents itself.

Tone of voice

Tone of voice does not just describe the impression your copy should make. It sets out concrete writing rules that content can follow – your Brand Voice as a checkable Voice Profile.

Address

Defines how your audiences are addressed.

Sentence rhythm

Describes whether the brand uses short, direct sentences or a different linguistic rhythm.

Vocabulary

Narrows down which terms suit the brand.

Permitted claim strength

Defines how decisively or cautiously a statement may be worded.

This turns a general style description into a concrete Voice Profile – without reducing the brand to individual phrases.

Voice Profile
Address Informal, direct, no distance
Sentence rhythm Short main clauses, one idea per sentence
Vocabulary
Signal, evidence, roadmap, approval Magic, unleashed, revolutionary
Permitted claim strength

Be decisive when evidence exists. No superlatives without proof.

Tagline register

Tone of voice determines how a brand speaks. The Claim Register determines what it may say about itself – not as a free-text field, but as a managed list of permitted statements.

Every claim carries its own context: the statement itself, the type of statement, evidence or an approval, the permitted strength, the scope and a status. A claim is therefore not a sentence fragment but checked information with clear permission for use.

“Analyses with a traceable basis.” Product docs All channels Approved
“Supported more than 500 projects.” CRM export Website, sales Approved
“Market leader in the DACH region.” Pending Sales only In review

Blocked claims are important brand information too

A missing claim does not tell you whether a phrase is unknown, unchecked or unwanted. A blocked claim makes the decision explicit and stops the same phrase from reappearing in the next generated text.

Claims stay traceable across versions

When a claim is changed or withdrawn, that affects every piece of content that uses it. The change does not disappear into a new text version; it stays visible wherever the statement is already in use.

Design foundations

Copy is only one part of a brand's presence. That is why BrandZaps also stores the foundations that matter for visual and interactive output: logos, typefaces, colours and visual style. This information can be derived from your existing website – BrandZaps measures it itself on every crawl.

For colours, area share and role are what count: not just which colour codes appear somewhere, but which ones shape the look and what function they serve. Fonts are assessed per element, and the logo is taken from the header.

BrandZaps merges many near-identical greys into one colour. Obfuscated font names are left out: an empty value is better than a wrong assignment.

What is measured remains a suggestion.

The design foundations found during the crawl are added to the brand profile as a suggestion. They do not replace a brand decision.

BrandZaps never overwrites a confirmed brand profile with a later crawl. The confirmed details stay binding, even if the website has since been redesigned.

Brand spellings

Brands are not always mentioned in just one spelling. Variants of the brand name can matter for recognition in AI answers and on pages. That is why the brand profile stores the spellings in which the brand name appears.

AI visibility can capture mentions based on these variants without querying a model. Citability can check whether a stored spelling appears in the page text.

Brand spellings are therefore not an editorial nicety but a technical recognition framework for measurement and checks.

Rules become brand impact.

The brand profile is not documentation that sits alongside the actual workflows. Its details take effect in the features that create content, build visual output or measure brand signals.

Fontane writes in your tone of address

Fontane uses address and Voice Profile when content is created. The Claim Register sets the content boundary: only statements covered by the register are used.

Friedrich creates images in your visual style

Friedrich uses the brand's stored colours and visual style. The visual direction is part of the profile, not a description added afterwards.

Gauss builds modules with known colours

If colours and fonts are missing, Gauss builds in black and white instead of guessing. A neutral result shows that no confirmed visual foundation exists yet.

AI visibility detects brand mentions

The defined brand spellings detect mentions in AI answers. No model needs to be queried for this – BrandZaps checks the specified variants directly.

Citability checks the page text

Using the stored spellings, the check detects whether the brand appears in the page text. BrandZaps does not have to guess which name refers to it.

BrandZaps suggests. You approve the brand.

Automatic measurement of the website and structured capture of brand information take the groundwork off your hands. But a detail only becomes binding once you decide.

This applies especially to the design foundations: what BrandZaps measures during the crawl is a suggestion. A confirmed brand profile is never silently overwritten. Claims can also be changed, withdrawn or blocked – the brand itself decides which statements are permitted in its name.

The brand profile in the system. One shared context for language, design and recognition.

The brand profile is the brand section of the company profile – where the business framework is maintained too. This connection matters: it means BrandZaps not only knows the tone of voice, but can link it to the company context.

The brand talks about its confirmed offerings, audiences and topics – in a defined language and with a defined presence.

Website snapshots

Provides the technical basis for measuring the design foundations.

AI content creation

Uses Voice Profile and Claim Register for new content.

AI images and code modules

AI brand perception

Connected to the brand profile through the brand spellings.

So the brand profile is not just a page of brand information. It is a BrandZaps Layer that translates the brand into different workflows.

What the brand profile does. And what it does not.

The brand profile stores the foundations BrandZaps needs for language, claims, visual output and brand recognition.

It does not, however, build a component library or layout templates. The design foundations describe the brand framework; they do not replace full design system or template management. Logos are currently stored as a URL.

These limits keep the feature clear: the brand profile is the binding source for brand rules and signals, not the place for a complete design system.

One brand source for every output.

When text, images, interactive modules or analyses are created in your brand's name, they should not have to reinterpret what the brand stands for every time. The brand profile gives them a shared framework.

BrandZaps works within it.
